| The word ឲ្យ and ជូន | The word ឲ្យ can be used as a verb, meaning “to give or allow.”
Example: ខ្ញុំឲ្យកាដូគាត់។ “I give him a present.” ឲ្យខ្ញុំថ្លឹងសិន។ “Allow me to weight it first.” The word ជូន “to give” is a polite and respectful form of the word ឲ្យ as in: គាត់ជូនកាដូខ្ញុំ។ “He gives me a present.” The word ឲ្យ could also be used as a preposition to mean “for”.
