C. Beat-Level Septuplets
Single-Line Exercises
The same strategies used for accurate performance of beat-level quintuplets apply for septuplets as well. This includes both single-line septuplets and septuplets superimposed over other divisions.
Exercises 9C-1 and 9C-2 feature septuplets intermixed with other divisions of the beat. Exercise 9C-3 features septuplets at the level of a subdivision of the beat.
Exercise 9C-1: Darius Milhaud, Symphonic Suite Number 2, Movement 5, Final

Exercise 9C-2: Ralph Vaughan Williams, The Lark Ascending

Exercise 9C-3: Claude Debussy, Sonata for Flute, Viola, and Harp, Movement 3, Final

Two-Part Exercise
Exercise 9C-4 features septuplets superimposed over eighth notes, producing seven-against-two.
Exercise 9C-4: Frédéric Chopin, Prelude for Piano, Opus 28, Number 15
