About the Authors
Bob Wilson
Bob is currently an instructor in the Department of Community Sustainability (CSUS) of Michigan State University (MSU), where he teaches three courses: Environmental Law, Environmental Policymaking and Michigan Trails—Trail Building, Law and Policy.
Bob is a past-chairperson of the Michigan Trails Advisory Council appointed by Governor Whitmer and was formerly the Executive Director of the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance. Prior to that served he as Policy Advisor and Counsel to the Michigan Senate Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation committees for 28 years. Bob has a law degree from Cooley Law School, and both a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy from MSU. Bob is an avid trail user, enjoying kayaking, trail running, mountain biking, and hiking, on Michigan’s trails.
Anna Lee
Anna is a public policy professional who works primarily on topics like environmental protection, outdoor recreation, and sustainable tourism. She holds a graduate degree in Sustainable Tourism and Protected Areas Management and an undergraduate degree in Parks and Recreation. In her current role on the energy and environment team at Public Sector Consultants (PSC), she helps clients explore and adapt to the complex and ever-changing environmental policy landscape. Prior to joining PSC, she served as a research analyst for the Michigan Legislature, where she provided state legislators and legislative staff with objective, nonpartisan research. Outside of work, she is an avid equestrian trail user and advocate for sustainable trail use and management. Anna is an active member of multiple trails-focused organizations and currently serves as the Secretary of the Michigan Horse Trails Association and the Statewide Tourism Representative on the Michigan Department of Natural Resource’s Equine Trails Subcommittee.
