11.1 Business Presentation
1. Pre-reading: សូមស្វាគមន៍ “Welcome!”
Imagine you are presenting a product. What appropriate phrases should be used to greet and welcome an audience formally and informally?
Read and decide which phrases are opening phrases and which are closing phrases.
The Words សម្រាប់ and ដែល
The primary use of the preposition “for” is to express gratitude or appreciation. The words សម្រាប់ and ចំពោះ are interchangeably used when expressing gratitude or appreciation. The word សម្រាប់ is typically succeeded by a noun. Nonetheless, the term សម្រាប់ is substituted by the particle ដែល when it precedes a verb in the gerund form.
Examples
- សូមអរគុណសម្រាប់ពេលវេលារបស់អ្នក។ “Thank you for your time.”
Compare with:
- អរគុណដែលបានចូលរួម! “Thank you for joining us.”
