Simple Present Tense & Present Continuous Tense
In Persian, both the “simple present tense” (زمان حال ساده) and the “present continuous tense” (زمان حال استمراری) are used to describe actions happening in the present, but they are used in different contexts. Here’s an explanation of both tenses, their structure, and how they are used, along with some examples.
Simple Present Tense
The simple present tense is used to describe habitual actions, general truths, routines, habits, or things that are happening regularly.
Formation
The simple present is formed by using the verb in its basic form (the root of the verb) for all subjects, except for third-person singular (he/she), where you add “د“(d) or “ه” (h) to the root of the verb.
Structure: subject + می + verb (root/stem) + ing

Present Continuous Tense
The present continuous tense (زمان حال استمراری) is used to describe actions that are happening right now (at the moment of speaking) or actions that are temporary or ongoing. It is also used for future plans or events.
Formation
The “present continuous” tense is formed by using the verb “داشتن” – to have in the present tense + the main verb in its infinitive form (the verb form ending in “ن“or “یدن“).
Structure: subject + دارد/دارند (is/are) + verb (root) + ing

In the Persian language:

To form a comparative adjective in Persian language, you generally add the word تر (tar) to the end of the adjective.
