Circuits and DC Instruments

Part 4: Circuits and DC Instruments

In this part, you will build on the concepts of electric current, voltage, resistance, and power to learn how complete electrical circuits operate. You will study how resistors combine in series and parallel, how batteries supply energy to a circuit, how Kirchhoff’s rules are used to analyze complex networks, and how electrical quantities are measured with common laboratory instruments. The part concludes by introducing circuits that contain both resistors and capacitors, laying the foundation for understanding many electronic and biomedical devices.

This part contains the following chapters:

  1. Introduction to Circuits and DC Instruments
  2. Resistors in Series and Parallel
  3. Electromotive Force: Terminal Voltage
  4. Kirchhoff’s Rules
  5. DC Voltmeters and Ammeters
  6. Null Measurements
  7. DC Circuits Containing Resistors and Capacitors
