Finding the Owner of Personal Items During Dorje’s Move into a New Apartment


Scenario 1


You are helping your friend རྡོ་རྗེ་ move to a new place. He shares the apartment with two other students, བསྟན་འཛིན་ and བཀྲ་ཤིས་. While packing, you notice a group photo on རྡོ་རྗེ་’s desk and become curious about who the people in the photo are.

Pre-activity Warm-up

Your Task

Ask རྡོ་རྗེ་ the following three questions:

  1. Who is this person?

  2. Is he བསྟན་འཛིན་?

  3. Which one is བཀྲ་ཤིས་?

Scenario 2


Their belongings are scattered all over the place. Your task is to ask རྡོ་རྗེ་ five questions to find out what belongs to whom.

Pre-activity Warm-up

Your Task

Ask རྡོ་རྗེ་ five questions to figure out who owns the following five objects:

  • ལྡེ་མིག་ (key)

  • མིག་ཤེལ་ (glasses)

  • ཁ་པར་ (phone)

  • ཚགས་པར་ (newspaper)

  • གློག་ཀླད་ (laptop)

Be sure to use:

  • Question markers: སུའི་, ག་གི་

  • Personal possessive markers: ཁྱེད་རང་གི་, ཁོང་གི་, ཁོང་ཚོའི་
