Gathering Information About Dorje’s Roommate’s Study and Job

Scenario 3

You haven’t met རྡོ་རྗེ་’s two apartment mates, བསྟན་འཛིན་ and བཀྲ་ཤིས་, and you would like to know what they do. Ask རྡོ་རྗེ་ three questions about each of them.

བསྟན་འཛིན་ is a student.

Ask:

  1. Is བསྟན་འཛིན་ studying?

  2. What is བསྟན་འཛིན་ studying?

  3. Isn’t བསྟན་འཛིན་ studying?

བཀྲ་ཤིས་ is also a student, but he works as well.

Ask:

  1. Is བཀྲ་ཤིས་ also working?

  2. What job is བཀྲ་ཤིས་ doing?

  3. Where is བཀྲ་ཤིས་ working?

  • ལས་ཀ་ = work, job

  • ལས་ཀ་བྱེད་ = to do work, to work
