5.6 Obligative Negative అతను హోం వర్క్ చేయక్కర్లేదు
Working with Obligative Negative Verbs
Please notice that obligative verb in its negative form follows this construction:
Subject + object + infinitive verb + అక్కర “akkara” + లేదు.
అక్కర (need): the original form of this word is అవసరం. In Telugu, as we have two forms of words (natural and modified), అక్కర is a modified form.
Reading Activity 1
Please read and re-write these sentences:
- నేను వంట చేయక్కర్లేదు.
- ఆమె క్లాస్ కి వెళ్లక్కర్లేదు.
- వాడు ఈ వీకెండ్ రెస్టారంట్ లో తినక్కర్లేదు.
- ఆయన రేపు కాంపస్ కి రానక్కర్లేదు.
- వాళ్ళు ఈ సాయంత్రం హోం వర్క్ కోసం కలవక్కర్లేదు.
- మీరు పొద్దున్న లేవనక్కర్లేదు.
- రవి ఇవాళ సాయంత్రం ఎక్కువ పేజీలు చదవక్కర్లేదు.
- ఆవిడ ఈసారి హైదరాబాద్ లో ఎక్కువ రోజులు వుండక్కర్లేదు.
- రాత్రి అతను ఎక్కువ సేపు మేలుకోనక్కర్లేదు.
- నేనూ, రవీ ఈ ఎండాకాలం క్లాసులు తీసుకోనక్కర్లేదు.
In the above sentences, similar to positive obligation, you also notice that there’s no subject and verb agreement. Despite many forms of subject positions, all the sentences end with అక్కర లేదు or అక్కర్లేదు.
