Introductions

Jessica walks into her Punjabi class on the first day and introduces herself when asked by the teacher.

ਮੈਂ ਜੈਸਿਕਾ ਹਾਂ। I am Jessica.
ਮੈਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਹਾਂ। I am an Indian.
ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹਾਂ। I am a student.
ਮੈਂ 20 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਂ। I am 20 years old.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮੇਜਰ ਅੰਗਰੇਜੀ ਹੈ। My major is English.

Introduce Your Friend

Jessica goes to the canteen after class with her friend and introduces him to her other friends.

Punjabi English
ਸਤਿ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲਿ। Hello. (formal)
ਇਹ ਅਸਲਮ ਹੈ। He is Aslam.
ਇਹ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਹੈ। He is Pakistani.
ਇਹ ਪੱਚੀ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੈ। He is twenty-five years old.
ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹੈ। He is a student.
ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮੇਜਰ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਹੈ। His major is political science.
ਅਸੀਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਦੋਸਤ ਹਾਂ। We are both friends.
