Reading Practice: ਰੀਟਾ ਦੀ ਜਮਾਤ (Rita's Classroom)

Rita’s cousin visits Rita’s school for the first time and Rita shows her the classroom. In the passage below, Rita describes her classroom.

ਇਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਮਾਤ ਦਾ ਕਮਰਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰੀ ਜਮਾਤ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜਾਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹਨ। ਮੇਰੀ ਜਮਾਤ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਈ ਕੁੜੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਠਾਈ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਡੀ ਜਮਾਤ ਦਾ ਕਮਰਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾਦਾਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸਦੇ ਦੋ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਛੇ ਖਿੜਕੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਖਿੜਕੀਆਂ ਸਕੂਲ ਦੇ ਬਗੀਚੇ ਵੱਲ ਖੁਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਕਮਰੇ ਦਾ ਫਰਸ਼ ਪੱਕਾ (concrete) ਤੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਹੈ। ਕਮਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬੈਠਣ ਲਈ ਸੋਹਣੇ, ਵੱਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਤੀਹ ਡੈਸਕ ਹਨ। ਡੈਸਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਕਸੇ ਵੀ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਕਮਰੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਾਰਟ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਕਮਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਗਰੀਨ ਬੋਰਡ ਵੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਜਮਾਤ ਦਾ ਟਾਈਮ ਟੇਬਲ ਤੇ ਸਿਲੇਬਸ ਟੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਤੀ ਕਮਲਾ ਦੇਵੀ ਜੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਦੀ ਅਧਿਆਪਿਕਾ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਹਨ। ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਾਨ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਜੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਜੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਪਸੰਦ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੱਸਮੁੱਖ ਹਨ। ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਤੀ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਗ੍ਰੇਜੀ ਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਤੀ ਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਜੀ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਹਨ। ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨਪਸੰਦ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਹੈ। ਸਾਡੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰਗੇ ਹਨ। ਸੋਨੀਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੱਕੀ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸਦਾ ਮਨਪਸੰਦ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਅੰਗ੍ਰੇਜੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਚੰਗੀ ਖਿਡਾਰਨ ਵੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਮਾਤ ਦਾ ਕਮਰਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਸੰਦ ਹੈ।
