Reading

Read the following two short passages with the help of the glossary provided below, and learn how a person is described in Bangla. The first passage describes a person in third-person familiar form while the second one is described using third-person honorific form.

আমার বোন

১। আমার বোন জুলিয়া। ওর বয়স কুড়ি। ও লম্বা। ও আমার চেয়ে লম্বা। ওর গায়ের রঙ ফর্সা আর চুল সোনালি। ওর চোখ নীল। ওর চোখ দুটো বড়ো আর আকর্ষণীয়। ও খুব হাসিখুশি আর মিশুকে। ও সৎ আর সময়নিষ্ঠ। ও খুব পরিশ্রমী। ও অন্যকে সাহায্য করতে ভালোবাসে। ও কলেজে যায়। ও সমাজ বিজ্ঞান পড়ে। ও ভালো ছাত্রি।

আমার অধ্যাপক

২। ব্রায়ান একজন ঐতিহাসিক। উনি আমার অধ্যাপক। উনি আমেরিকান। উনি আমার বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়ান। উনি একজন ভালো শিক্ষক। উনি খুব ভদ্র, অমায়িক আর সহানুভূতিশীল। উনি সবসময় ছাত্রদের সাহায্য করেন। ছাত্ররাও ওনাকে খুব শ্রদ্ধা করে ও ভালোবাসে। উনি বেশ লম্বা আর ছিপছিপে। ওনার গায়ের রঙ বাদামি আর চুল কালো। ওনার বয়স প্রায় ষাট। উনি নিয়মিত ব্যায়াম করেন। উনি খুব বুদ্ধিমান। উনি আমার আদর্শ।
