Chapter 8.3: Bangla Articles or Classifiers
টি, জন, রা, টা, খানা, গুলি, গুলো are known as articles, classifiers, or qualifiers in Bangla. They are used to mark a word as more definite and are placed after the word they qualify.

Rules
- টি, জন, রা are added to human beings and টা, খানা, গুলি, গুলো are added to non-humans and inanimate objects, primarily.
- With singular nouns and pronouns referring a human being, টি is added. যেমনঃ মেয়েটি, ছেলেটি
- Similarly, টা is added to singular non-human and inanimate objects. যেমনঃ কুকুরটা, বাড়িটা, এটা, ওটা
- With plural nouns and pronouns referring human beings, রা is added. যেমনঃমেয়েরা, ছেলেরা
- Likewise, গুলো/গুলি is added to non-human and inanimate objects. যেমনঃ কুকুরগুলো, বাড়িগুলো, এগুলো, ওগুলো
- জন is used with numerals and adjectives of quantity that modify nouns denoting humans. However, it is not used with words denoting children. যেমনঃ একজন লোক, কয়েকজন বন্ধু
- খানা / খানি is generally used with flat, thin objects. যেমনঃ কাগজখানা, বইখানা
- After a number, টা is added as an article except for the following numbers: 2, 3, and 4. যেমনঃ একটা, দুটো, তিনটে, চারটে, পাঁচটা, ছটা, সাতটা, একশটা
- However, when a number is followed by an unit of time, length, distance, weight, etc., no article is generally added. যেমনঃ এক দিন, দশ মিটার, সাত পাউন্ড
